ok, i know i'm a year too late with this one ... but i think the techno viking is the coolest.

also, i like the dude standing on pillar in the background dancing.

and techno viking pointing at the douche who knocked into the aged candy raver

and the water hand off

and the intense look of techno viking as he raves it up even tho' his socks don't match. and still ... pointing at douche who is sitting and "feeling" it!

The Tale of the Two Dolls

During a trip to Alaska, my mother came across two dolls. At first, she was shocked. Perhaps, she was even a little horrified. They looked exactly like her adorable and oh-so-precious twin daughters as cute babies. Not only that, the two dolls wore very similar outfits and had similar chubby-chubby cheeks. Turning away, she huffed and shook her head in a very Indian-yar-yar-manner and muttered to herself "What a waste of money," followed by a very Indian-yar flick of the wrist.

Several days past, the two dolls lurked, drank tea and threw snowballs in the corner of my little Indian mom's memory palace. As she traveled to icebergs, sailed ships and watched wolves, my mother could see them dwelling about. The dolls were perched on the iceberg. The dolls merrily sailed the ships. The dolls rode the back of wolves.

On the last day, of my mother's Alaskan adventure, she threw her hands up, ran to the store and purchased the two dolls. The two dolls turned their eyes, tilted their heads and smiled.

True story.

My mother gave one doll to me. She gave the other doll to Darshana. My father picked up a doll for my little sister, knowing she'd feel so sad and so left out. A strange looking one with long long hair and long long face. And White.
I call my doll "matu". And Matu calls her doll "chimi". Anushya calls her doll "Little French Girl"

The End.

currently watching.

I love Korean dramas and soap operas. I spend most of my downtime watching them. (My little sister and best friend K both think I have problems. They're probably correct).

Right now, I'm watching Dal Ja's Spring, a korean drama of 22 episodes that aired last year. So, far I'm on episode 16. And knowing my track record, I'll prob. finish the entire series tonight. So far, it is one of the cutest K-Dramas I've seen since Coffee Prince. The female lead is so likeable. The storyline has so many twist and turns. It is also soooo funny.

From WikiDrama (cause you know, i don't like summarizing)

"‘Dalja’s Spring’ is the story of Dalja, a 33-year old single at a crossroad of whether to remain single or get married before she gets older. The drama aims to comically and candidly portray the reality and undying pursuit of romance of a thirty something single woman.
The love triangle of Dalja, Taebong and Gijoong brews conflicts over love versus marriage. Taebong, a hunk six years younger than Dalja, works as substitute dates and becomes Dalja’s fake boyfriend. Gijoong is the type who dreams of an ideal and rational courtship. The drama also highlights the life and work of women in their thirties through Dalja who is a talented managing director at a home shopping channel."

Hahaha. Being in my late twenties (almost 30!) I kinda relate with the female lead. And the age difference issue ... eh-hem ... can relate to that too (looks at Pearly and Matu ... who are both giving me a virtual knowing nod)

Anyways, the story is very manhwa and so incredibly cute. I highly recommend this series.

i love the handy functions in digi-camera. like the sports function. its fun.

Cooking Papa

Right now, I am living in Koreatown. For those who know Philly, it's an area that is pretty much dominated by Korean BBQ, Asian french pastries cafes, Lotte Shops and other family run businesses.

Well, to the point: I love food and I love eating food. And I am so happy that I live here. My current favorite resturant is Cooking Papa

Okay, Cooking Papa. I love the name. I envision a cute dad, cooking away, making awesome creations in a very manly apron and chef's hat. The food is fusion. A mixture of Korean, Japanese, and Spanish, makes my stomach grumble. In a good way.
When I saw omirice on the menu, I nearly cried. I love omirice. I'm a little obsessed with omirice. I am so glad it is a skip away. Omirice is a fried rice omelet filled with goodness. Also, on the menu is shabushka, yaki soba and fresh tuna salad bibimbob. Also, the chef will gladly accommodate vegans by taking out egg and meat.

So my nerd alert rings at level 10. Wasn't Cooking Papa a manga? Why, yes, it is. Cooking Papa is a manga by Tochi Ueyama. I wonder if it has anything to do with the DS game? I never read the manga. I'm not sure if it was ever translated.

So, Cooking Papa is my new jam. I really should Yelp this. haha. Did the nerd alert go up to 20? I think it did.

Zettai Kareshi

I just finished the last episode. Wait, no, I called my sister after watching ( T_T ). Oh man. I never get misty eyed over films, shows or the like. But, the waterworks started and it won't stop! Such a good ending. I read the graphic novel, so I thought I was prepared but alas, I wasn't. The ending was so well done. This is now one of my top dramas. I highly recommend. no spoilers here, just watch it. sigh sigh sigh. the love forever and sweet dreams!!!

Music I'm Diggin'

DMGD ORCHSTR
This is the brainchild of my buddy Mark Herst. DMGD ORCHSTR makes me feel like I am in an modern day RPG realm, battling dark wizards, gaining mana through my bubble tea with the madness of 8-bit wonder of smashing pumpkins as my soundtrack.

Stereolab Dots and Loops.
Maybe, its the summer. Maybe, its the cool spritzer limeade. I loved this album during my freshman year in college and love it now. Even after almost 11 years of its release, this album is flawless.

Ape School
No No No. I am not being biased here! Yes, we've played shows with this awesome philly act. And yes, Michael Johnson (who IS ape school) is also our drummer. But this band ... what can I say, it is a refreshing sound in wierdadelphia music scene. A little prog, a little stoner rock and a whole lot of rockin', this band is just pure goodness and I never tire of listening to the albums.

Dinosaur Jr. Green Mind
For me, this album is a classic. Its like cutting AP Political Science, laying on the south lawn, staring at the clouds, chain smoking cigarettes, with your walkman on at full blast and the tape of choice is Green Mind. Makes ya feel a little nostalgic, don't it?

Shugo Tokumaru
The album has a sweetness, a psychedelic wildness and the wistful sound of enchantment! love it.

Hana Yori Dango

Chocolate and Jdrama. Hmmm.

Alright! Coffee Prince will always be my favorite KDrama. But as far as JDrama goes: there is a new champion! It is Hana Yori Dango (Boys over Flowers). I read the manga ages ago (lone tear, it was very good). I've always eyed the live action but never brought myself to watching. well, in my usual style, i went through one of my phases of hibernation and found myself downloading the avi. (side note: if it weren't for my friends ... i would prob. turn into a pasty creepy, glazed eyes, frizzy haired, smelly dudette, surrounded by graphic novels, LPs & 45s, video games and drooling over jdrama. thanks guys!) The manga was great ... the live action is fantastic. Combined with a very likable characters and a strong female lead, the story revolves around Makino the "Tough Weed" interactions with the F4 at a very prestigious rich kid school.

From DramaWiki
"Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4’s bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school.
Makino hopes to pass her days quietly-- without drawing any attention to herself-- but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino gets the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school because she is a “tough weed”. She declares war right back on the F4. Her resolve gets the attention of her crush Hanazawa Rui and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.
The series is based on the Japanese shoujo manga "Hana Yori Dango" (Boys Before Flowers) by Kamio Yoko."

The live action is 2 seasons long and a Movie which finalizes the series comes out end of this month. I really love this series and really want to see the movie. dammit ... "patience is a virtue" (haha)

Currently Playing: The World Ends With You

I only started this game a couple days ago. And presently on Day 3 in gameplay. This game is just amazing.
And it has everything that makes ME happy:
1. Takes place in the Shibuya District
2. You battle noise that pollutes the realm
3. Open gates guarded by dudes in red hoodies
4. Fashion determines the level of power one has in each zone.
5. Angst ridden teens
6. Really complex battles.
7. The graphics are wonderful.
8. So far, I really enjoy the storyline.

I gotta say, this game is great.
